Volterra is one of the finest and lesser known hilltop towns

perfectly conserved 4th cent. Etruscan Gate, Roman Theatre and
Archeological Park.
A single ticket gives access to three excellent museums; the
Etruscan Museum which treasures a wealthy collection of
beautifully sculpted alabaster cinerary urns; the recently
renovated Art Gallery which houses a fine collection of Medieval
and Renaissance art including the Mannerist of Sacred Art. Wander
into one of alabaster workshops, browse and enjoy the traditional
local craft which can only be savoured here in Volterra.
